![]() I couldn’t be more thankful to have experienced it!īillboard Dance Picks: The Chainsmokers, SNAILS & More To see how both of them mix their styles together, share their knowledge and just combine everything they have to create a unique style… it’s amazing to see. The experience of working with them was once in a lifetime. (laughs) After that we talked and listened to music until the early morning. To be honest, that was the fastest eight hours I ever experienced - it felt like one minute. I was like “Yo this is fire!” Wes handed me the stems for what they already had, and I literally sat down for like eight hours straight on the couch and worked on it. Then at some point, we just all started talking and showing each other music, and the “Holla Out” demo came out. (laughs) My two heroes that inspired me to start making music were there right in front of me! I remember standing without talking for 20 minutes because I didn’t know what to say. I get there, I enter the room, and freaking Diplo and Sonny are right in front of me - chilling and working on new music. He just looked at me and said “Fred you have to leave… now!” I’m like “What did I do again?” (laughs) Then he tells me Sonny and Wes are in town, and they want me to go to their studio to hang out and possibly work on something. I remember I was with my manager that night and we were talking, then the phone rang. Op-Ed: If Skrillex and Diplo Can’t Get Us Off Our Phones, Who Can? I want everybody to know that I wouldn’t be anywhere without all my fans and supporters. And it’s also to prepare people for the next full EP coming this fall. Everybody who has been representing and supporting the vomitstep movement. This EP is an enormous “thank you” to everybody that has been supporting me since day one. ![]() Why did you decide to release this EP for free? I really wanted to express all the emotions I had inside me in one song. I needed to expand the SNAILS sound to another level and break the barrier of vomitstep. The first thing I did when I got home was to basically sit down in my studio and stay there until I got the “Murda Sound” idea. I was finishing up the Brillz tour and my first New Years Eve run, and I got so freaking inspired by all the amazing experiences I had. What was your creative process on this release?
